CONAKRY, REPUBLIC OF GUINEA, 20 November 2020 – Ivanhoe Liberia and the Société des Mines de Fer de Guinée (SMFG) are delighted to announce that Mr Kevin McLean, an Australian national, has been named to the role of Director of Operations for the Nimba Iron Ore Project. Mr McLean brings his rich experience of more than 24 years in the mining sector. He began his career in Australia in iron ore, gold and base metals. From 2013 to 2015, he led operations (mine, rail, port) of a large iron-ore project in Sierra Leone.

More recently, from 2015 to October 2020, Mr McLean has fulfilled the roles of Project Director, Operations Director and CEO/PDG of Bel Air Mining, the Guinea subsidiary of Alufer Mining which developed and today operates the Bel Air mine.
